Other must-sees in Philly include the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and Reading Terminal Market. And don’t forget to sample some of the city’s famous cheesesteaks!
Dry Tortugas National Park, Florida
This national park is only accessible by boat or seaplane, but it’s well worth the effort to get there. Located about 70 miles west of Key West, Dry Tortugas is home to Fort Jefferson—a massive 19th-century fort that’s now a popular spot for snorkeling and scuba diving. The park also has some of the best birdwatching on the east coast, with species like pelicans, herons, and roseate spoonbills. And if you time your visit right, you might even be able to see a turtle nesting!
Outer Banks, North Carolina
The Outer Banks are a chain of barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina that are known for their pristine beaches and laid-back vibe. If you’re lucky enough to visit during Thanksgiving week, make sure to check out the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade—it’s an annual tradition that shouldn’t be missed! Other must-dos in NYC include ice skating at Rockefeller Center, visiting Santa at Macy’s Herald Square, and seeing the tree lighting at Rockefeller Center. Of course, no trip to NYC would be complete without taking in a show on Broadway— make sure to get tickets in advance!
